After the recent fires on Kangaroo Island, they need help. Given that a large part of the Island’s employment comes from tourism, what they especially need now is for people to visit.

The government’s ‘Book Them Out’ campaign supports KI by encouraging visitors and we are committed to running our tour in late March to help the KI community and businesses.

The great news about KI is that most of the tourist attractions are untouched by fire. Flinders Chase NP and the western end of the Island have been devastated, but there is still much to see and do. In fact, you can spend numerous days exploring KI while seeing virtually no evidence of fire!

We have changed our original tour itinerary slightly and are visiting places we wouldn’t normally have time to visit. So although Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch are not available to visit, we’ll be visiting places like Cape Willoughby and American River, including the reconstruction of the first vessel ever built in SA – the schooner ‘Independence’.

We also visit Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to hear about their efforts to care for the local wildlife who have been affected by the fires. So come and help the people of KI in a tangible way, and book on our tour. You’ll have a great time, and the people of KI will benefit. The tour travels from 26th to 30th March. See the revised itinerary here.
