Whale watching and Art displays
Great sights on the South Coast.
Winter doesn’t have to be dull and dreary! It’s a great time to head to the south coast to see any whales that might be visiting our beaches!
During winter in SA we are fortunate to be frequently visited by magnificent Southern Right Whales. These amazing creatures spend the warmer months at Antarctica, and during the winter visit Australia’s southern coastline for breeding and calving. Much of this happens at the Head of the Bight, but the whales often pop in to visit the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula on the way.
We are wandering south to see if we can spy any of these massive marine visitors along the coastline. While we’re in the area, we are also taking advantage of the South Australian Living Artists Festival being underway to see the work of the renowned Victor Harbor Art Society.
At this time of year the waters of the south coast look wild and fascinating, and the countryside is green and lush, making for a wonderful day out in a nice, warm bus! Come along and join the fun!
