Embark on a picturesque journey through Victoria’s stunning landscapes with our Bright in Autumn Tour. Delight in the seasonal beauty of Bright, where the fall colors transform the scenery into a vibrant tapestry. Highlights include exploring the historic charm of Beechworth and experiencing the natural wonders of Mount Buffalo National Park. This tour offers a perfect blend of nature, history, and local flavors, culminating in a memorable exploration of Victoria’s autumnal beauty.
Day One – TUESDAY 6 MAY 2025
Our tour begins with the convenience of chauffeur-driven pickups from home, setting off from Adelaide towards Tailem Bend for a morning tea stop.
Next, we continue our journey with a comfort stop in Lameroo before arriving in Pinnaroo. Here, we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch at the Golden Grain
Hotel, known for its warm hospitality and delicious local fare.
The afternoon sees us making another brief pause in Ouyen, allowing everyone a moment to refresh before we complete the day’s journey.
By late afternoon, we arrive at Swan Hill Resort (03) 5032 2726, where we will check in and have time to settle in before enjoying a sumptuous
dinner, marking the perfect end to our first day of the tour.
Day Two – WEDNESDAY 7 MAY 2025
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we depart for our next destination.
Our morning tea will be hosted in Gunbower, providing a tranquil setting to relax before continuing our journey.
As we travel on, we make our way to Shepparton, where lunch awaits us at a local venue – a spot known for its welcoming atmosphere and tasty offerings.
We also take the opportunity to do some cow spotting! The Moooving Art exhibition is an inventive display celebrating the local dairy industry; a significant contributor to Australia’s dairy exports. This public art installation features life-sized cow sculptures used as canvases and scattered throughout the city, showcasing ever-changing designs and locations.
The afternoon is dedicated to cultural enrichment as we visit the renowned Ceramic Mural and explore the Benalla Costume and Kelly Museum, offering a glimpse into the local history and artistic expression.
Our day concludes as we arrive at the High Country Motor Inn (03) 5755 1244 in Bright, where we check in for the next two nights and unwind.
We gather later for dinner at the inn, reflecting on the day’s adventures and enjoying the hospitality of our hosts.
Day Three – THURSDAY 8 MAY 2025
Our day begins with a delightful breakfast. Refreshed, we depart for a guided tour around the charming town of Bright.
This town is known for its stunning autumnal displays and as a gateway to the Alpine region’s extensive outdoor activities. Renowned for its vibrant seasonal colours and picturesque landscapes, Bright attracts visitors who come to enjoy its beautiful gardens, leafy streets, and the backdrop of the Alpine National Park. This morning’s exploration includes a relaxing morning tea break and some free time to wander through Bright’s inviting streets.
For lunch, we’ll enjoy the local flavours at the Beechworth Bakery, a Victorian institution, famous for its delicious pastries and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
In the afternoon, we take a scenic drive stopping in Wandiligong at Nightingale Bros Alpine Produce where you can shop for fresh, locally-grown fruits and artisan products.
We return to Bright and our accommodation with time to relax before gathering for dinner, sharing the day’s experiences and enjoying the cozy comforts of our accommodation.
Day Four – FRIDAY 9 MAY 2025
Our exploration continues with a delightful breakfast setting us up for an adventure-filled day.
We journey along Dingle Dell Road towards the enchanting Mount Buffalo National Park, where we pause for morning tea surrounded by awe-inspiring natural landscapes. This park, celebrated for its panoramic views, rugged cliffs, and diverse ecosystems, offers a tranquil retreat into nature.
Following our refreshment, we explore the park further, taking in its expansive views and remarkable rock formations, which are a haven for climbers and nature enthusiasts alike.
Lunch is a unique encounter at The Red Stag Deer and Emu Farm in Eurobin. Here, not only do we enjoy our meal, but we also get to interact with the farm’s diverse animals and learn about their care and the farm’s sustainable practices.
The day concludes as we travel to Beechworth and check into our accommodation for the next two nights at the Grand Oaks Resort Beechworth (03) 5728 2618. We can relax before gathering for dinner to share the day’s unforgettable experiences.
Day Five – SATURDAY 10 MAY 2025
Our day starts with a nourishing breakfast at the Resort.
We then set off for a fascinating guided tour of the historic town of Beechworth, delving into its rich past, including tales of bushrangers and gold miners.
Following morning tea we visit the Beechworth Historic Courthouse the centrepiece for many of the Kelly Gang trials. We will experience the new
Kelly Trials Exhibition which features an immersive multi-media display telling the story of the Kelly Gang, it’s trials and tribulations. There are
also several exhibition rooms featuring historic artefacts.
After exploring, there will be free time to enjoy lunch and wander through Beechworth’s charming streets, browsing its quaint shops and boutiques.
The afternoon brings us to Billson’s, an iconic establishment with a history of brewing and the revival of craftsmanship. Here we learn about this fascinating brewery and taste a variety of traditional and artisan drinks.
We return to the Grand Oaks Resort for some rest before concluding our day with a delightful dinner, reflecting on the immersive historical experiences and the serene beauty of Beechworth.
Day Six – SUNDAY 11 MAY 2025
Our day commences with an early breakfast at the motel setting the stage for a day full of exploration as we head towards our next destination.
Our journey includes a refreshing morning tea at the serene Benalla Botanic Gardens, allowing us to enjoy the tranquil setting and lush greenery.
Following the tea break, we make a brief comfort stop in Murchison before continuing to Colbinabbin to admire its impressive silo art, showcasing local culture and artistry on a grand scale.
Lunch awaits us at the Beechworth Bakery in Bendigo, offering a range of delicious, freshly baked goods in a cosy, inviting atmosphere.
Post-lunch, we journey towards the Grampians, making a quick comfort stop to stretch our legs.
The travel day concludes as we check into The Magdala Motor Lodge (03) 5358 3877, where we’ll unwind and gather for dinner, reflecting on the scenic views and rich cultural experiences of the day.
Day Seven – MONDAY 12 MAY 2025
We commence our final day with breakfast before departing our accommodation.
Our journey back to Adelaide includes a pleasant morning tea in Natimuk, offering a serene setting to reflect on our tour experiences.
Following this, a short comfort stop in Kaniva provides a chance to stretch and enjoy the fresh air, plus the opportunity to admire their stunning silo artwork.
Lunch is served at the Keith Hotel, where a delicious meal awaits, perfect for our last group activity together.
We then proceed with our journey, making another brief stop in Tailem Bend to unwind before the final stretch.
Our wonderful Autumn tour concludes as we arrive back in Adelaide by the late afternoon, bringing with us lasting memories of the beautiful sights and shared experiences of Bright in its autumnal splendour.
