Carrick Hill Christmas
Experience the newly renovated house
December heralds the festive season, and we’ve got a day to get you in the mood for Christmas.
We start with a visit to an iconic Adelaide property – Carrick Hill. This very special historic home has just completed renovations, making it an even more interesting place to visit. And as the renovations include a lift, the house is much more accessible to explore.
Carrick Hill is fortunate to be one of the few period homes in Australia to survive with its original contents almost completely intact and its grounds undiminished. Built as the home of Bill Hayward (of John Martins fame) and Ursula Barr Smith, it is a tribute to the money and taste of the early 1900s. It is full of the fine and decorative arts collected by the couple, and
surrounded by beautiful gardens. We have time to explore and enjoy this amazing property.
Our lunch in the hills today is a traditional Christmas-style feast (with other options available) so we can get into the mood of Christmas. We relax and enjoy chatting with friends old and new. This afternoon, as has become traditional for us in December, we are visiting a local Adelaide Hills cherry farm for the opportunity to purchase top quality, freshly picked cherries.
Join us for a great day and enjoy getting into the spirit of Christmas with friends!
