Day One – FRIDAY 18 APRIL 2025

Our Easter journey begins with our chauffeured home pick-ups as we depart Adelaide, making our way to the charming Beerenberg Farm.

Here, we explore this family-owned farm that’s renowned for its delicious array of jams, chutneys and sauces, all made from locally sourced ingredients. You will have the opportunity to browse the farm shop, where you can pick up unique treats and learn about the farm’s rich history dating back to 1839.

Following our visit to Beerenberg, we head to the Meadows Country Easter Fair. This vibrant event showcases the best of rural craftsmanship and local produce, offering a wide range of handmade goods from artisans and craftspeople. Enjoy the lively atmosphere with music, traditional crafts, and a variety of food stalls. Lunch will be enjoyed here, allowing us the opportunity to sample an assortment of local dishes.

Our scenic drive takes us through the picturesque towns of Macclesfield, Nairne, and Kanmantoo, each offering unique vistas of South Australia’s rural landscape. We’ll make a brief comfort stop in Murray Bridge before continuing to our final destination.

The day wraps up as we arrive at the Mannum Motel (08) 8569 1808, where we’ll check in for the next 3 nights and unwind. Later in the evening, we gather for our dinner at the motel, sharing stories of the day’s discoveries and enjoying the warm hospitality

Day Two – SATURDAY 19 APRIL 2025

This morning, after breakfast we make our way to the Monarto Safari Park where we have morning tea upon entering the park. Since its opening in 1983 as a breeding and pasture area, Monarto has become one of the world leaders in habitat restoration, captive breeding, conservation education and environmental sustainability.

After our morning tea, we are joined by one of Monarto’s expert guides for a Safari Explore Tour where we will meet this diverse and sometimes mischievous ‘family’ of animals that represent 50 different species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles. We view them from the safety of the bus on our guided tour, stopping at the different wildlife viewing areas so that we can be in close proximity to the animals.

After touring, we head to the Visitors precinct where we enjoy lunch in the café with stunning views over the park.

We depart Monarto and travel to our last stop for the day at the Serenity Nursery in Murray Bridge. This visit allows us to browse at our leisure, and possibly pick up some unique plants, gifts or garden accessories.

After a day exploring, we take a scenic drive to Mannum, where we return to our accommodation and the wonderful hosts at Mannum Motel. There will be time to relax and freshen up before dinner.

Day Three – SUNDAY 20 APRIL 2025

Happy Easter! We start the day with a hearty breakfast at the Mannum Motel, preparing us for a day full of exploration and fun. Our adventure is centred around a delightful day that includes both cultural insights and natural beauty.

First, we embark on a relaxing Four Knots Cruise on the iconic Murray River, enjoying the tranquil waters and scenic views that define this stunning area. The cruise will not only allow us to appreciate the serenity of river life but also provide an intimate look at the lush riverside ecosystems.

Mid-morning, we’ll dock to visit Aussie Apricots in Mypolonga, where we’re treated to a fascinating demonstration and tasting. Learn about the apricot farming process and sample some of the finest dried fruits and products made from this versatile stone fruit.

Continuing our day of exploration, we head to the Revolution Museum. This museum offers an intriguing look into the innovative farming techniques and local history that have shaped the region.

We will then enjoy a leisurely lunch, soaking up the local atmosphere before cruising back to Murray Bridge.

Our day concludes as we return to the Mannum Motel, reflecting on a day well-spent exploring the rich heritage and natural beauty of the Murray River region.

Day Four – MONDAY 21 APRIL 2025

Our final morning begins with breakfast at the Mannum Motel, after which we set off on a scenic journey towards Walker Flat. Here, we pause for morning tea by the river, enjoying the tranquil views and fresh air.

Our next stop is Maynard’s Lookout, offering spectacular vistas of the Murray River’s dramatic bends and the lush surrounding landscape. It’s a perfect spot for some photos and to take in the serene environment.

Continuing our journey, we drive through the picturesque landscape to Nildottie, where we stop to admire the expansive views over the river and surrounding bushland.

Lunch is served at the Blanchetown Hotel, where we can relax and enjoy the hospitality and hearty meals typical of this charming river town.

In the afternoon, we make our way to the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company. Here, we indulge in the rich flavours of locally produced chocolates and explore the offerings of this delightful artisanal spot.

We conclude our Easter adventure as we arrive back in Adelaide in the late afternoon, bringing with us cherished memories of the beautiful landscapes and unique experiences shared over the festive weekend.
