Join us for an enchanting Easter journey through Swan Hill and beyond. Highlights include a guided tour of Swan Hill, a visit to the Pioneer Museum, and a serene cruise on the historic PYAP paddle steamer. Explore the vibrant Easter market stalls, uncover aviation history in Lake Boga, and enjoy the captivating Sound and Light show. A visit to the historic Port of Echuca includes a scenic cruise along the iconic Murray River, adding to the charm of this festive and unforgettable tour.

 

Day One – THURSDAY 17 APRIL 2025

We begin our Easter tour with chauffeur-driven pick-ups from home, before travelling from Adelaide towards our first stop at Tailem Bend for morning tea. This quaint location provides a peaceful start to our journey.

We then make a brief stop in Lameroo, allowing a moment to stretch and enjoy the surroundings before continuing on through Pinnaroo and Murrayville. We stop to relish a delightful lunch along the way at a local cafe renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and delicious offerings.

The afternoon journey takes us to Ouyen for another short comfort stop, maintaining our leisurely pace as we proceed to our destination.

By late afternoon, we arrive at Swan Hill Resort (03) 5032 2726, where we will check in for the next 4 nights and unwind.

Our day concludes with a sumptuous dinner, setting the stage for a relaxing evening as we look forward to the adventures that await us in the days to come.

Day Two – FRIDAY 18 APRIL 2025

Our Easter journey continues in Swan Hill, starting with a hearty breakfast at the Swan Hill Resort.

The day kicks off with an informative guided tour of the town, uncovering its history and cultural gems. Post tour, we enjoy a refreshing morning tea, soaking in the relaxed local vibe.

A visit to the Swan Hill Pioneer Museum follows, where we delve into the past through its extensive collection of artifacts, interactive exhibits, and authentic buildings, offering a vivid glimpse into the life of early settlers. This museum is renowned for its engaging presentations and the historical richness it preserves.

Lunch at the Paragon Cafe offers a taste of local culinary delights in a charming setting, refueling us for the afternoon’s adventure – a relaxing cruise on the PS Pyap. This historic paddle steamer glides us along the picturesque Murray River, providing a unique perspective of the region’s natural beauty.

We wind down our day back at the Resort, gathering for dinner and sharing the day’s memorable moments.

Day Three – SATURDAY 19 APRIL 2025

Day three of our Easter tour in Swan Hill starts with a satisfying breakfast, setting us up for an eventful day.

We soon depart for the Easter Market Day, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the festive spirit, exploring stalls brimming with local crafts, food, and more. During our visit, we’ll also enjoy a leisurely morning tea.

Our journey continues with a visit to the Flying Boat Museum at Lake Boga, where a self-guided tour reveals the fascinating history of WWII flying boats and their strategic importance. Lunch will be served here, amidst tales of aviation and history.

In the afternoon, we delve into the artisan world at Chasney Easte, engaging in a talk and a soap making demonstration, learning about traditional techniques and the charming history behind this craft.

We’ll also make a brief stop to admire the impressive silo art at Lake Boga, capturing the essence of local culture.

After returning to Swan Hill, we enjoy an early dinner, followed by a captivating evening at the Sound and Light show at the Pioneer Settlement. Using the natural river environment as its stage, this state-of-the-art show integrates water, light, sound and special effects. It is the perfect close to a day rich in history and local experiences.

Day Four – SUNDAY 20 APRIL 2025

Happy Easter!

Today begins with a delicious breakfast, setting the tone for a day filled with discovery and enjoyment.

We depart for Kerang, where our morning tea awaits, offering a pleasant pause before we continue to the historic Port of Echuca. This heritage-rich river port is famous not only for its well-preserved paddle steamers and colonial architecture but also for its vibrant riverside atmosphere. Here in Echuca, we delve into the history and charm of the town, exploring its quaint streets and historic docks.

Lunch is served amidst this picturesque setting, providing a taste of local cuisine enhanced by views of the bustling port.

Post-lunch, we embark on a tranquil cruise along the iconic Murray River. This journey offers a unique perspective of the river’s scenic banks, steeped in history and natural beauty.

The cruise concludes, and we return to Swan Hill, arriving back in time to relax before dinner. This meal offers a chance to reflect on the day’s adventures and the peaceful moments spent along the river on our Easter Sunday.

Day Five – MONDAY 21 APRIL 2025

On our final day, we start early with breakfast, fueling up for the journey ahead.

Departing from Swan Hill, our first pause is in Ouyen, where we enjoy a refreshing morning tea and a brief respite.

Our lunch stop is at the Golden Grain Hotel in Pinnaroo, a favourite spot that offers hearty meals ideal for our last shared moment on tour.

Post-lunch, we’ll make a brief comfort stop in Tailem Bend before proceeding to Callington.

Our memorable Easter journey concludes as we arrive back in Adelaide, bringing with us cherished memories of delightful discoveries and festive moments.
