Beaches, Bounty & Icecream
Southern beaches + Fleurieu produce
What could be better in summer than beaches and icecream?
It’s a time of warmer weather when we used to head for the beach to cool down or have a family holiday. Today we’re off to enjoy a relaxed drive along Adelaide’s southern beaches, where the waves glisten and the sand is smooth, with morning tea along the way. We meander past beaches like Port Noarlunga, Moana, Port Willunga, Aldinga Beach, Silver Sands and Sellicks Beach. Many of these are the quieter beaches, and yet arguably some of the prettiest to be found along Adelaide’s coastline.
We’ve arranged a delicious lunch just a touch inland at Willunga – two hearty courses with choices. Our afternoon stop is a little further south, and you’ll be pleased we haven’t brought you here hungry. We are visiting Harvest the Fleurieu; a roadside shop that showcases the very best of produce from the Fleurieu Peninsula. This spot started life as a strawberry stall in an old Volkswagen Combi at the side of the road, and has grown into something very special. We’ll be treating you to an icecream made from the fruit grown on site – trust us, it’s delicious!
Don’t get stuck inside this summer – come with us and have fun with friendly people in a wonderfully cool bus!
