Are you a history lover? Do you want to learn more about the rich heritage of South Australia? If so, join us for a day tour to the Prospect Hill Historical Museum, where you can explore the past and present of this charming town.
Opening especially for our visit, this is a unique opportunity to take a glimpse into the past! Situated along the main street, the historic buildings of the Prospect Hill Museum include the general store and post office, built in 1872 and signifying the beginnings of the town. There is a dairy, cellar, blacksmith
shop, school and Flag Tree Shed. The exhibits showcase the history of the local community, the life of our early pioneers and the story of the devastating Ash Wednesday bushfires of 1983. Many of the historic buildings in Prospect Hill were lost in the fires and a number of those we visit on our tour have
been lovingly restored by the local community.
Lunch is enjoyed in nearby Meadows before a scenic Autumn drive admiring the changing colours of the season
